Happy birthday to Kyle Schwarber.  It was a nice celebration in 2015 when he hit a grand-slam in a spring training game on his birthday.  

Schwarber signed a contract with the Washington Nationals where he'll joined former Cubs coach (now manager), Davey Martinez and Jon Lester.

Happy birthday to Jake Arrieta.  He's only the 2nd Cubs pitcher (after 1900) to pitch 2 no-hitters for the team (with Ken Holtzman).  He was an all-star, silver slugger, and helped the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.  

He'll return to the Cubs for the 2021 season.

Neil Walker helps defeat the Cubs on Opening Day for the 2nd time in 4 years (in 2011, his Grand Slam helped the Pirates to a 6-3 Pirates victory in Pittsburth). Jeff Samardzija and Francisco Liriano have a pitcher's duel that has the game go 0-0 into the ninth inning. Carlos Villaneuva comes into the game and gives up the game-winning walk off home run to Walker to send the Pirates home with a 1-0 victory.
