Ronald Reagan is one of many famous Chicago Cubs fans. I've never visited it myself, but his childhood home was in Dixon Illinois (I have driven by it one time). I believe I heard one of his early jobs was as a lifeguard, but even before his movie career in the 1930's, "Dutch" Reagan moved to Iowa to begin a radio broadcasting career.

At WHO in Des Moines, Iowa, Reagan had the challenge of doing play by play for Cubs games getting information called in from the game. I guess the imagination and improvisational skills gave him good experience for his future acting and political career. Is that a good or bad thing??
