Hendricks starts game 2 of NLDS in St. Louis versus the St. Louis Cardinals. His bunt
in the 2nd inning scored the Cubs first run of the game and started a 5 run rally that helped the Cubs tie the NLDS at 1 games each. Hendricks was one batter short of pitching the 5 innings needed to earn the victory, but struck out 7 Cardinals and did not walk a batter,
giving up 3 runs.

In Game 2 of the NLCS, Kyle Hendricks pitches a great game, going 5 1/3 innings versus the Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw, but Kershaw & Kenley Jensen shut out the Cubs as Hendricks is the tough luck loser in this game, giving up the only run of the game on a 2nd inning
home run to Dodgers, Adrian Gonzalez. Dodgers defeat Cubs 1-0 in game 2 of the NLCS at Wrigley Field.

Kyle Hendricks matches up against Clayton Kershaw for the 2nd time in the NLCS, but this
time, the Cubs get to Kershaw early and give Hendricks an early lead. Hendricks pitches great, giving up just 2 hits in 7 1/3 innings, striking out 6 batters with 0 walks. Aroldis Champman gets the final 5 outs and the Cubs go to the World Series for the 1st time in 71
years (1945) defeating the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in game 6, 5-0 and win the Series 4 game to 2.

Kyle Hendricks pitches a very good game, not allowing a run in 4 1/3 innings, but Josh Tomlin of the Indians was better as Tomlin and 3 Indians relief pitcher shutout the Cubs in the first World Series game played at Wrigley Field since 1945. Indians defeat Cubs to take a 2-1 lead in the 2016 World Series.

Kyle Hendricks gets the opporunity to start a World Series game 7. Hendricks pitches very well, but gets taken out of the game after just 4 2/3 innings pitched, giving up 2 runs (only one run was earned). Hendricks efforts helps maintains an early Cubs lead, that they will lose when Rajai Davis hits a dramatic home run off Aroldis Chapman to tie the game, but the Cubs win the World Series championship scoring 2 runs in to the top of the 10th inning.
Awards & Accomplishments:
Hendricks finished 7th in the NL Rookie of the Year voting in 2014 as he had a record of 7-2 with a 2.46 ERA in 13 starts.
Kyle Hendricks goes 16-8 with a 2.13 ERA for the 2016 Cubs. His 2.13 is best in the National
League. He is the first Cub to win the NL ERA title since 1945 (the last time the Cubs made
it to the World Series), when Hank Bowory also had a 2.13 ERA for the Cubs team that also made
it to game 7 of the World Series (the 1945 team lost game 7 to the WS champion, Detroit Tigers).
Hendricks had a 1.62 ERA in 2 NLCS starts and a 1.00 ERA in 2 World Series starts. His efforts were certainly an important contributor to the Cubs first World Series championship in 108 years.
Hendricks finishes 3rd in the NL Cy Young voting behind Max Scherzer and teammate, Jon Lester.
