The birthday of Cubs great, Johnny Evers. Evers was part of the legendary
Cubs double play combo (Tinkers to Evers to Chance). He was elected to the
MLB Hall of Fame in 1946. He won 2 World Series with the Cubs (1907 and 1908). He won both MVP and a World Series championship with the Boston Braves in 1914, the year after the Cubs traded him away. He managed the Cubs in 1913 and 1921 with a total record of 129-120.

Pete "Grover" Alexander pitches a 4-hit complete game shutout
for a 1-0 Cubs win over the Brooklyn Robins. The game took just
one hour and 13 min to complete. The only run was driven in by
Ray Grimes, his 15th consecutive game with an RBI (he'll set a record
of 17 on July 23, 1922).
July 21, 1928
Cubs sweep a doubleheader with walk-off victories in both games. In
game 1, Riggs Stephenson gets the walk-off RBI single in the 15th inning.
In game 2, which goes 10 innings, its Gabby Hartnett's RBI triple that earns the Cubs a doubleheader sweep.
July 21, 1930
At the Polo Grounds, the Cubs defeat the Giants 6-0. Pat Malone pitches
8 scoreless innings to earn the win, Hack Wilson homers twice and Doc
Farrell homers for the Cubs as well.
July 21, 1950
Andy Pafko goes 3 for 5 with a home run and a 13th inning single and scores the winning run as Bill Serena singles him home for the 4-3 walk-off victory over the Boston Braves at Wrigley Field.
July 21, 1965
A nice comeback by the Cubs as they trail 7-5 into 8th inning. Billy Williams RBI double in 8th inning cuts lead to 7-6. Jimmy Stewart's RBI triple ties it in 9th inning & Ernie Bank's RBI single gives the Cubs an 8-7 walk-off victory in 10 innings at Wrigley Field.
Don Landrum & Doug Clemens both have 4 hits and 3 runs scored in the game as well.

Cubs defeat the Astros 11-3 at the Astrodome. Billy Williams goes 4 for 6 with a double, home run & 6 RBI.

Cubs defeat the Braves 4-3 in 12 innings. Bill Buckner hits the walk-off RBI single. Willie Hernandez & Paul Reuschel combine for 4 scoreless and hitless IP.

Trailing 2-1 into the 9th inning, Cubs rally to score 2 to win the game.
Dave Kingman's RBI single ties the game and Scot Thompson's walk-off RBI
single gives the Cubs a 3-2 victory over the Braves.

Cubs defeat the Giants 4-3 in 11 innings at Wrigley Field. Thad Bosley's walk-off RBI single in 11th drives in Larry Bowa for the 4-3 Cubs victory.

At Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, Jose Guzman and 2 Cubs relief pitchers combine on a 2-hitter as Cubs defeat the Reds 4-1.

After scoring 16 runs the day before, the Cubs bats continue to be hot
defeating the Braves 15-6. The top of the Cubs batting order does most
of the damage. Tom Goodwin (leading off) has 5 hits and 4 runs scored,
Mark Grudzielanek has 4 hits and 4 runs. Sammy Sosa homers with 3 hits
and 4 RBI and Moises Alou drives in 5 runs with 4 hits.
