Ernie Banks goes 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a run scored to help the National League win the All-Star game 5-4.  The game was played at Forbes Field.

July 7,1927
Charlie Root's 1-hitter against Pirates puts Cubs in 1st place.

July 7, 1939
Bill Lee pitches 11 innings to earn the win as the Cubs defeat the Pirates 5-4 at Forbes Field.  Billy Herman's sacrifice fly scoring Stan Hack is the game-winner.

July 7, 1944, game 1
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs and Hank Wyse defeat the Giants 3-2.  Wyse gives up just 6 hits and 2 runs and pitches a complete game. 

July 7, 1968, game 1
In game 1 of a DH, Cubs blow a 4-2 lead when Pirates score 2 in 9th, but win it in bottom of ninth on Jose Arcia's walk-off home run.

After Jose Arcia hits a walk-off home run in the first game of a doubleheader, Ron Santo turns a 1-0 Dodgers lead into a 4-1 Cubs victory with a walk-off grand slam.  Dodgers pitcher, Bill Singer is the tough luck loser after pitching 8 scoreless innings

July 7, 1976
Cubs defeat the Padres 10-0 at Wrigley Field.  Rick Reuschel pitches a 4-hit complete game shutout. 

July 7, 1977
One year after he shuts out the Padres on 4 hits at Wrigley,   Rick Reuschel shuts out the Cardinals, scattering 9 hits in a 2-0 Cubs win. Larry Biittner homers.

July 7, 1979
Cubs get 15 hits and defeat the Astros 6-0.  Scot Thompson goes 5 for 5 with 5 singles.  Ken Holtzman pitches a 3-hit complete game shutout and his double is the only extra base hit for the Cubs.  Mike Vail drives in 4 runs in the 2nd game to complete a Cubs sweep with an 8-3 victory.

July 7, 1985
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeated the Giants 6-5.  Leon Durham homers twice. 

July 7, 2011
Nationals lead the Cubs 8-0 in Washington, but Cubs come back to defeat the Nats 10-9. Darwin Barney's 9th inning double scores Tony Campana for the winning run.

July 7, 2017
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeat the Pirates 6-1. Kris Bryant goes 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored & 4 RBI with a single, triple and 2 home runs.  Eddie Butler and 4 Cubs relievers combine on a 6-hitter. 

July 7, 2018
After trailing 5-0, the Cubs come back to defeat the Reds 8-7.  Javier Baez has a big day going 4 for 5 with a home run & 2 RBI.
