scores the winning run after he singles and comes home on a triple

him in with a 2-run, walk-off home run as Cubs defeat the Padres 3-2.

On his first Opening Day after leaving the Cubs as a free agent,
Greg Maddux, allows no runs and just five hits to his former team over
8 1/3 innings as the Braves edge the Cubs, 1 - 0.

July 21, 1998
At Turner Field, Kerry Wood (and two other pitchers) and the Cubs shutout
out the Braves and Greg Maddux 3-0. Wood strikes out 11.
