The 1906 Cubs set a major league record for victories in a season with 116. This record has since been tied by two teams, the 1998 New York Yankees and the 2001 Seattle Mariners.



the Best Players. The Cubs pitching was dominant in this decade thanks primarily to Three Finger Brown and Orval Overall. As for the hitters, the Cubs double play combination of Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers and Frank Chance were their top players along with 3B Harry Steinfeldt.



Pre-Wrigley Field West Side Grounds was the home field for the Cubs in this decade and hosted the 1906, 1907, 1908 and 1910 World Series.
