September 9, 1986
Cubs defeat the Phillies 8-6 in 10 innings on Leon Durham's 2-run, walk-off home run.  Lee smith pitches 2 scoreless innings to earn the win.  4 Cubs RP combine to pitch 6 scoreless innings to allow Cubs to come back and win.  Keith Moreland homers twice and gets hit by a pitch in front of Durham's game-winning home runs.

September 9, 1953
Down 2 runs, Ralph Kiner hits 3-run walk-off HR as Cubs defeat the Pirates 8-7 at Wrigley Field. 

September 9, 1973
At Wrigley Field, Billy Williams & Rick Monday drive in all 5 runs (and score 4 of them also).  Williams 8th inning HR is the game winner.  Monday hits 2 home runs, including a leadoff HR. 

September 9, 1977
For the 2nd straight day, Cubs win on a walk-off.  This time it is Gene Clines who hits a walk-off, 2-run home run in a 10-8 Cubs victory over the Mets at Wrigley Field. 

September 8, 1981
At Busch Stadium, Bobby Bonds homers twice as the Cubs defeat the Cardinals 7-3. 

September 9, 1986

Congratulations to Bruce Sutter for getting his 300th career save while with the Atlanta Braves, he earned the save against the San Diego Padres with a 5-4 victory in 11 innings.  At the time, he is only the 3rd player to reach 300
saves (Rollie Fingers and Rich "Goose" Gossage were the first 2 to 300 saves).

September 9, 1989
Cubs defeat the Cardinals 3-2 on Luis Salazar walk-off RBI double in the 10 inning at Wrigley Field.

Cubs defeat the Expos 3-2 on Alex Gonzalez 9th inning, walk-off home run.
