At Jerry Parc, Billy Williams homers twice, but Expos come back to defeat the Cubs 6-5 on a walk-off RBI single by Ron Hunt.

At Three Rivers Stadium, Steve Renko pitches a 5-hit complete game shutout in a 1-0 victory over the Pirates and Larry Demery, who also pitched a CG, allowing just 3 hits, including a HR by Rick Monday.

Bill Buckner goes 4 for 4 with a home run & 2 RBI as the Cubs defeat the Mets 4-1 at Shae Stadium.  Mike Proly & 3 Cubs relievers combine on a 6-hitter.

Mike Hampton shuts down the Cubs for 8 1/3 innings, but Cubs come back to score 3 runs to send the game to 10th inning.  Luis Gonzalez drives in Mark Grace with an RBI single in 10th for a 4-3 Cubs walk-off victory.

At Wrigley Field, Ryan Dempster pitches a 5-hit complete game shutout as Cubs defeat the Pirates 6-0.

Trailing 4-2 into the 8th inning, the Cubs come back and defeat the Reds 5-4 on Ian Happ's 2-out, 3-run home run.
