September 24, 1943
The smallest crowd in Wrigley Field history (314) watches Andy Pafko
make his Cubs debut.  In 3 at bats, Pafko drives in 4 runs with a single and a double as the Cubs defeat the Phillies 7-4 in 5 innings in a rain shortened game. 

September 24, 1964
Cubs overcome a 3-1 Dodgers lead, John Bocabella's RBI single in the 8th inning makes it 3-2.  Don Kesssinger's RBI single in the 9th ties the game and Ron Santo wins it for the Cubs 4-3 with a walk-off sacrifice fly. 

September 24, 1966
At Wrigley Field, Fergie Jenkins pitches a 4-hit complete game shutout as the Cubs defeat the Dodgers. 

September 24, 1974
In game 1 of a doubleheader, Rick Monday & Bill Madlock both hit 2 home runs (in same innings too, 1st & 6th).  Monday led off game for Cubs with HR.  Cubs defeat Expos 6-4.  Game 1 of a doubleheader. 

September 24, 1975
Both Tom Seaver & Rick Reuschel pitch 10 scoreless innings before the Cubs
load the bases in the bottom of the 11th inning and the game ends when
Skip Lockwood walks Bill Madlock scoring Rick Monday with the walk-off
walk.  Cubs defeat the Mets 1-0 in 11 innings at Wrigley Field

September 24, 1984
Rick Sutcliffe gives up just 2 hits, both to Joe Orsulak, strikes out 9 Pirate batters and faces just 28 batters (one over the minimum) as he wins his 20th game of the season and clinches the NL East penant for the Cubs.

celebration begins!!! 

September 24, 1985
Andre Dawson of the Expos hits 3 home runs, including 2 HR"s in a 12 run
5th inning as Expost defeat Cubs 17-15 at Wrigley Field.  Cubs score 12
runs in the final 3 innings and leave the tying run on base on the final out of the game.   

September 24, 1995
Scott Servais RBI single in 9th inning ties game and Brian McRae sends
Cubs fans home with a walk-off HR as Cubs defeat Pirates 3-2 in 10 innings
at Wrigley Field. 

September 24, 2003
At Great American Ball Park, Shawn Estes pitches a 4-hit complete game shutout as Cubs defeat the Reds 8-0. 

September 24, 2008
Cubs defeat the Mets 6-3 in 10 innings at Shae Stadium.  Derrek Lee & Aramis Ramirez reach base 10 out of 12 plate appearances, each of them walking 3 times.  In the 10th inning, Derrek Lee doubled home Ryan Theriot and Aramis Ramirez followed with a 2-run home run.

Cubs overcome an early 5-1 Mets lead.  Carlos Delgado hit a grand slam
off Carlos Zambrano. 

September 24, 2009
At AT&T Park, the Giants lead the Cubs 2-1 into the 9th.  In the 9th,  
Derrek Lee walks and scores on Jeff Baker's 2-run home run off Brian
Wilson as Cubs defeat the Giants 3-2. 

September 24, 2014
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeat the Cardinals and John Lackey 3-1. Jake Arrieta finishes 7 innings giving up just 2 hits, a walk and one unearned run. He strikes out 10 and triples home 2 of the Cubs 3 runs. 

September 24, 2017
At Miller Park, Jose Quintana strikes out 10 and pitches a 3-hit complete game shutout in a 3-0 Cubs victory.
