September 19, 1955
Ernie Banks hits his 5th grand slam of the 1955 season off Lindy McDaniel of the Cardinals in the 7th inning. 

The slam gives the Cubs a 5-0 lead that they will lose as the Cardinals defeat the Cubs 6-5 in 12 innings.  Bank's 5 grand slams in a season remain an NL record (Albert Pujols tied the record in 2009).  Don Mattingly and Travis Hafner hold the MLB record with 6 grand slams in a season (1987 and 2006).

September 19, 1951
Bubba Church of the Philadelphia Phillies win his 10th consecutive decision over the Cubs as the Phillies defeat the Cubs 5-1
at Wrigley Field.

September 19, 1955

September 19, 1969, game 1
Bob Gibson & Ken Holtzman in 1-1 tie going into 10th inning.  Jim Hickman's RBI double drives in Billy Williams for 2-1 walk-off victory.  Holtzman gives up just one run over 10 innings to earn the win. 

September 19, 1976
At Wrigley Field, Ray Burris pitches a 7-hit complete game shutout and Jerry Morales home run is the only run in a 1-0 Cubs victory over the Phillies. 

September 19, 1979
At Busch Stadium in 2nd game of a doubleheader, Dave Kingman's 2nd home run in top of the 9th ties the game and Jerry Martin's 10th inning home run gives the Cubs a 3-2 win and a split of the doubleheader. 

September 19, 1980
Trailing 3-2 into 9th inning, Ivan Dejesus RBI single ties the game and Jerry Martin wins it with walk-off RBI single as Cubs defeat the Phillies 4-3 at Wrigley Field.  

September 19, 1999
Glenallen Hill's 9th inning, 2-run HR ties game & Benito Santiago's 10th inning walk-off, RBI single wins it for Cubs 8-7 over Brewers at Wrigley Field. 

September 19, 2010
One of the more unusual and scary injuries in Chicago Cubs history as Tyler Colvin gets a broken bat lodged into his chest (the ball was hit by Wellington Castillo while Colvin was at third base).  Colvin does leave the game and the incident does leave him with a punctured lung.  The Cubs defeat the Marlins 13-3 at Sun Life Stadium

September 19, 2011
At Wrigley Field, Geovany Soto homers twice and drives in all 5 Cubs runs in a 5-2 Cubs victory over the Brewers.
