October 13, 1906

In game 5 of the World Series, the White Sox defeat the Cubs 8-6 at West Side Grounds in Chicago despite committing 6 errors.  Every game of the series to this point has been won by the visiting team.

At Bennett Park, 3 Finger Brown pitches a CG 4-hit shutout as Cubs defeat Tigers 3-0. Cubs are just one victory from a World Series championship.

Javier Baez hits a big 3-run HR off John Lackey in a 4-run 2nd inning. Jason Hammell lasted only 3 innings pitching, but his single with 2 outs in front of Baez's home run was a very big hit. Cubs show off their depth as Baez is starting due to an injury to regular shortstop, Addison Russell.  7 Cubs relievers hold the Cardinals to just 2 runs over 6 innings.

Anthony Rizzo homers & Kyle Schwarber's home run ends up on top of the right field scoreboard and has been called the "Schwarbomb".

Cubs win NLDS 3 games to 1 over their rival Cardinals to advance to NLCS. It is the first series clinching win in Wrigley Field history!!
