2015: Kris Bryant hits his first MLB home run in a 12-4 loss to the Brewers at Miller Park.  

2018:  Kris Bryant hits his 100th career home run in an 8-1 Cubs victory over the Rockies at Coors Field in the 2nd game of a doubleheader.  


May 9, 1963
Dick Ellsworth pitches a complete game, 2-hitter as Cubs defeat Pirates 3-1 at Wrigley Field.

Ernie Banks homers twice as the Cubs defeat the Astros 7-1 in the 2nd game of a doubleheader.

May 9, 1967
Ron Santo goes 5 for 5 with 5 singles to help the Cubs defeat the Giants 10-2 at Wrigley Field.

May 9, 1976
In mop up duty, Bruce Sutter makes his major league baseball and Chicago Cubs debut pitching the final inning of a 15-2 loss to the Reds, giving up 2 hits, striking out one and walking one without giving up a run.

May 9, 1982 
Cubs and Astros are tied 3-3 into the 9th inning at Wrigley Field.  Leon Durham doubles and for some reason, the Astros and Randy Moffett walk Bob Molinaro intentionally to face Jody Davis instead.  Jody Davis hits a walk-off 3-run home run to win the game 6-3.  Davis goes 2 for 4
with 4 RBI on the day. 

May 9, 1987
At Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego, the Cubs hit 4 home runs, 2 by Leon Durham, 1 each by Jody Davis & Andre Dawson as the Cubs defeat the Padres 5-2.  Greg Maddux gets the win, Lee Smith gets the save.

Cubs get a 5 inning win.  Les Lancaster shuts out the Braves on 4 hits as Cubs win 4-0. 

May 9, 1993
Mark Grace hits for the Cycle (single, double, triple and home run) in a Cubs loss to the Padres at Wrigley 5-4.

May 9, 1994
Cubs defeat the Cardinals 6-3.  Eddie Zambrano hits 2 home runs with 4 RBI. 

May 9, 1998
In game 2 of a doubleheader, the Cubs defeat the Giants 7-0 behind Geremie Gonzalez 6-hit shutout.

May 9, 2004
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs and Rockies play 13 innings as the Cubs win 5-4.  Tied into the 10th inning, Todd Helton homers to give Rockies a lead, but Aramis Ramirez ties it back up with a 2-out 10th inning home run.  Corey Patterson's 13th inning, RBI single drives in Derrek Lee for the walk-off winner.

Alfonso Soriano leads off the game with a home run and both the Cubs & Pirates do not score the rest of the game as Jason Marquis pitches a 3-hit shutout retiring the first 16 batters of the game until Don Kelly's single in the sixth inning.  Cubs defeat Pirates 1-0 at Wrigley Field.
