Hall of Fame catcher, Gabby Hartnett leads off the inning with a single, gets to 2nd on a bunt and scores on a walk-off RBI single by Charlie Root. Root, the all-time Cubs leader in victories (201) earns this win out of the bullpen, pitching 3 2/3 innings in relief of Guy Bush.
