Cubs play their first game at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia.  Fergie Jenkins strikes out 12 and gets the win, 4-0 against his former team.  For his career, Fergie had a career record of 26-8 with a 2.39 ERA and 7 shutouts against the Phillies.

Heinie Zimmerman collects 4 hits in a 9-5 win over the Reds, but commits 4 errors as well.

At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeat the Giants 15-9.  Bill Buckner doubles twice, homers, scores 3 runs and drives in 3.  Mike Vail homers and drives in 4 runs.

May 10, 2000
A crazy game at Wrigley Field goes into the 9th inning with the Brewers leading 4-3.  The Brewers get 4 runs to extend to an 8-3 lead, but the Cubs come back with 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth, thanks in part to a 3-run home run by Henry Rodriguez.

Willie Greene singles in Rickey Gutierrez to give the Cubs a 9-8 walk-off victory in the 11th inning.

May 10, 2003
Joe Borowski and the Cubs blow a 2-1 lead to the Cardinals in the ninth inning, but Alex Gonzalez sends Cubs fans home happy with a 10th inning walk-off home run off Cal Eldred.  Cubs Win 3-2 at Wrigley Field.

Cubs defeat the Mets 7-0 at Wrigley Field.  Corey Patterson homers twice, Jason Dubois & Jeromy Burnitz homer for Cubs also.  Greg Maddux strikes out 10 and combines with 2 Cubs relievers on a 3-hit shutout.

Cubs defeat the San Diego Padres 8-7 to go to 25-6 on the season.  Ben Zobrist goes 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored & 2 RBI.
