Happy birthday to Aramis Ramirez (Cubs, 2003-2011).  Ramirez drove in over 100 runs in 5 seasons with the Cubs (2003 was split between Pirates and Cubs when he drove in 106).  He was an all-star twice with the Cubs and won one silver slugger award.

In game 1 of a doubleheader, Gabby Harnett's 1st inning RBI single is all the Cubs need as Bill Lee scatters 9 hits by the Boston Bees with the help of 3 Cubs double plays for a 1-0 victory at Braves Field.

Augie Galan goes 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored, 4 RBI and a SB & becomes 1st NL player to hit HR's from both sides of the plate

June 25, 1950
Hank Sauer has a big game with two home runs and two doubles as Cubs defeat the Phillies, 11 - 8.

June 25, 1967
Cubs sweep DH giving up just 1 run to Astros. Bill Hands & Joe Niekro both pitch very well for Cubs.

June 25, 1977
Cubs score 4 runs in 9th to defeat the Mets 5-4. Larry Biittner drives in 2 & Manny Trillo's infield out is walk-off.

June 25, 1996
At Dodgers Stadium, Steve Trachsel pitches a 6-hit complete game shutout and drives in a run in a 2-0 Cubs victory over the Dodgers.

June 25, 1998
Sammy Sosa hits his 19th June home run, a new MLB record. He will finish the month with 20.  Cubs lose to Tigers 6-4.
