At Braves Field in Boston, the Cubs defeat the Braves 1-0 as Hippo Vaughn pitches a 6-hit shutout.  Charlie Hollocher's 8th inning RBI triple drives int he only run of the game.  

June 16, 1948
Cubs defeat the Dodgers 8-5 at Ebbetts Field.  Andy Pafko goes 2 for 5 with a 3-run home run. 

June 16, 1972
At Wrigley Field, Burt HOoton throws a 6-hit complete game shutout as the Cubs defeat the Dodgers 4-0 at Wrigley Field.

Cubs blow a 6-2 lead when Phillies score 4 runs in 9th inning, but they win
the game in 11 innings on Ryne Sandberg's walk-off, RBI single scoring Jody Davis.

Steve Trachsel and 2 Cubs relivers combine on a 6-hit shutout against the Dodgers at Wrigley Field.  Howard Johnson wins it for the Cubs with a 2-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th.

At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeat the Twins 11-4.  Sammy Sosa homers twice for the Cubs.  Eric Young, Rickey Gutierrez & Joe Girardi homer for the Cubs as well.

At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeat the Brewers 12-7.  Carlos Pena, Kosuke Fukudome & Alfonson Soriano homer for the Cubs.

In Miami, the Cubs defeat the Marlins 5-4.   Starlin Castro hits a 3-run home run and goes 3 for 6 in the game.  Cubs pitcher, Travis Wood drives in the winning run in the 13th inning with an RBI double.

Kyle Schwarber's MLB and Cubs debut. Schwarber comes in to catch the ninth inning and strikes out in his first MLB at bat.
