Ron Santo returns to the line-up after being hit in the head with a pitch and extends his hit streak to 28 with hits in both doubleheader games.

Ron Santo walk off 2-run HR in tenth inning.  Cubs defeat Phillies 3-2 at Wrigley Field

Cubs dominate this doubleheader with pitching as Glen Hobbie 2-hits the Mets in Game 1 for a 2-1 Cubs victory.
 
In Game 2, Paul Toth shuts out the Mets on just 3 hits as Cubs complete the sweep with a 3-0 victory.

July 4, 1966

Phil Niekro of the Braves defeat the Cubs 8-3 and his brother Joe Niekro.

July 4, 1970
In 1st game of a doubleheader, Pirates defeat the Cubs 10-6.  Billy Williams
homers twice. 

July 4, 1973
Ron Santo walk off 2-run HR in tenth inning. Cubs defeat Phils 3-2 at Wrigley Field

July 4, 1975, Game 2
Jose Cardenal's walk-off RBI single in 11th gives Cubs a 2-1 win over Pirates
at Wrigley Field.  Andre Thornton tripled in 11th and Pirates walked two batters intentionally in front of Cardenal's game winning hit.  Cubs, Geoff Zahn didn't get the victory, but pitched 10 innings and gave up just one unearned run.  Darold Knowles earned the win with 1 scoreless relief inning. 

July 4, 1991
Cubs blow an 7th inning, 8-2 lead, but Mark Grace wins the game in the 11th inning with his 2nd home run of the game.  Cubs defeat Pirates 9-8 at Wrigley Field in 11 innings. 

July 4, 2003
Cardinals defeat the Cubs 11-8 at Wrigley Field.  Moises Alou homers twice
and drives in 5 runs. 

July 4, 2004
Glendon Rusch pitches 8 scoreless IP, Todd Walker's walk-off walk in 9th helps Cubs defeat White Sox 2-1 at Wrigley Field. 

July 4, 2010
Tyler Colvin homers twice and drives in all 3 Cubs runs as the Reds
defeat the Cubs 14-3 at Wrigley Field. 

July 4, 2015
Kris Bryant's hits 2-run home run in the first and a grand slam in the 2nd
as the Cubs coast to a 7-2 win over the Marlins at Wrigley Field.
