July 16, 1967
At Candlestick Park in San Francisco, the Cubs sweep a doubleheader over the Giants.  In Game 1, Ernie Banks hits a 3-run home run, Adolfo Phillips hits a grand slam and Ray Culp pitches a 6-hit complete game shutout. 

In Game 2, Ernie Banks homers again and Ron Santo's 9th inning sacrifice fly gives the Cubs a 3-2 win.

July 16, 1944, game 1
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs Hank Wyse and the Pirates, Rip Sewell have a great pitcher's duel as the Cubs Don Johnson drives in the lone run of the game for a 1-0 Cubs victory.   Wyse scatters 9 hits and pitches a complete game to earn the victory. 

July 16, 1950
Andy Pafko helps the Cubs sweep a doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies at Wrigley Field.  Pafko goes 6 for 7 with a walk in the 2 games, 2 doubles, a triple, a home run, 4 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Cubs win game 1 8-0 and the 2nd 10-3.

July 16, 1952
Cubs defeat Boston Braves 3-2 at Wrigley Field in 13 innings.
Cubs trail into the 9th inning 2-1 when Bruce Edwards ties the game with a 2-out, RBI single off Warren Spahn. Dutch Leonard pitches 4 scoreless relief innings to allow the Cubs, Phil Cavaretta to win it for Cubs with a walk-off RBI single in the 13th inning.  Cubs defeat the Boston Braves 3-2 at Wrigley Field. 

July 16, 1958
Cubs get come from behind victories in both ends of a doubleheader against Reds.


GM1 Bobby Thomson drives in Lee Walls & Ernie Banks with a 2-run double
for a walk-off 5-4 victory in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
 
GM2 Cubs come back in Game 2 to win 7-5. This time the 3-run rally was in the 8th inning.

July 16, 1967

At Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City, the Cubs defeat the Royals 10-7.  Sammy Sosa homers twice and drives in 4 runs. 

July 16, 2016
At Wrigley Field, Jason Hammel and 3 Cubs relievers combine on a 3-hitter as the Cubs defeat the Rangers 3-1. 

July 16, 2017
A great Cubs debut by Jose Quintana as he pitches 7 shutout innings, giving up 3 hits with 12 strikeouts and no walks as the Cubs defeat the Orioles 8-0 in Baltimore.  

July 16, 2019
Alec Mills gives up 3 runs to the Reds in the first inning, but he and the Cubs
bullpen hold the Reds scoreless through the tenth inning, allowing the Cubs to tie the game 3-3.  Kyle Schwarber wins it for the Cubs with a walk-off home run in the 10th inning.
