Dawson was elected to the MLB Hall of Fame in 2010.  

In 1987, Dawson was MVP for the Cubs after leading the NL in both Home Runs (49) and RBI (137).

In Game 1 of a DH, Dickie Noles pitches CG shutout as Cubs defeat Reds 1-0. The 2nd game is suspended with score tied 5-5 and finished the next day as Reds defeat Cubs 6-5 in 13 innings.
