August 5, 1958
Cubs blow a 9-3 lead as the game goes into extra innings, but Ernie Banks saves the day with a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning for a 10-9 victory at Wrigley Field.  Banks goes 4 for 5 on the day with 3 singles, a home run, 2 runs scored & 3 RBI. 

August 5, 1966
Ron Santo drives in all 4 Cubs runs with 2 home runs and a single. His 9th inning home run sends the game to extra innings and he wins it with a walk-off bases loaded single in the 10th for a 4-3 Cubs victory at Wrigley Field.

August 5, 1971

Trailing 2-0 to the Cardinals in the 4th inning, Bill Buckner homers to cut the lead to 2-1 and he wins it for the Cubs in the 8th inning with a 2-run double scoring Barry Foote & Scot Thompson as Cubs defeat the Cardinals 3-2 at Wrigley Field. 

August 5, 1980
Cubs defeat the Pirates 11-3 as they hit 4 home runs, 2 by Jerry Martin (1 each by Bill Buckner & Cliff Johnson).  Rick Reuschel pitches a complete game at Wrigley Field.

August 5, 1984
At Wrigley Field, Keith Moreland's grand slam drives in all 4 Cubs run in a 4-3 victory over the Expos.  Rick Reuschel & Lee Smith contribute with 5 scoreless relief innings.    Reuschel gets the win and Smith gets the save.  

August 5, 1986
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeat the Mets 8-5.  Ron Cey goes 3 for 3 with a walk, home run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  In Cey's final at bat on August 3rd, he doubles in a run, reaches base all 4 times on August 4th and also reaches base all 4 games in this game.  In total, Cey reaches base in 9 consecutive at bats from August 3rd to the 5th.  

August 5, 2016
In Oakland, the Cubs defeat the A's 7-2. Jorge Soler goes 1 for 4 with a 2-run home run.
