AT Wrigley Field, the Braves score 5 runs in the 8th and 9th innings to take a 6-5 lead, but Randy Jackson's RBI triple in the 9th inning sends it the game to extra innings and Hank Sauer hits a walk-off RBI double (driving in Randy Jackson) in the 11th inning to win it for Cubs 7-6.

Ernie Banks gets 4 hits, 3 of them home runs and drives in 7 runs as the Cubs defeat the Pirates 11-10 at Wrigley Field

Lew Burdette scatters 10 Cardinals hits for a complete game as the Cubs defeat the Cardinals 4-0 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. 

August 4, 1968 
At Busch Stadium, the Cardinals honor Hall of Famer, Stan Musial unveiling a statute of the Cardinals great outside the stadium.  The Cubs ruin the
celebrations with a 13 inning, 6-5 victory over Bob Gibson, who pitched 11 innings.  Billy Williams homered, Ron Santo had 4 hits.  Al Spengler tied
the game in the 9th inning with a home run and pinch-hitter, Lee Elia got the game winning hit, driving in Randy Hundley for the 6-5 Cubs victory.
Elia, who later managed the Cubs, only had 3 hits and 3 RBI in his one season with the Cubs (1968).

August 4, 1971
Cubs defeat the Padres 3-0 as Milt Pappas pitches an 8-hit complete game shutout. 

August 4, 1983
At Busch Stadium in St. Louis, the Cubs defeat the Reds 9-6.  Ron Cey goes 2 for 4 with a triple, home run and 3 RBI.

At Wrigley Field, the Cubs defeat the Mets 4-2.  Ron Cey goes 3 for 3 witha  walk, a home run, a run scored and 2 RBI.
