In game 1 of a doubleheader, Hank Sauer homers 3 times off Curt Simmons in a 7-5 Cubs victory.  Sauer will hit 3 HR's in a game off Simmons again in 1952.

At Wrigley Field, Hank Sauer hits three home runs off Curt Simmons, as the Cubs defeat the Phillies 7 - 5 in game 1 of a doubleheader.   Sauer hits 3 HR's off Curt Simmons again in 1952.

Cubs defeat the Astros 5-2.  Ryne Sandberg hits his 30th home run of the season to become the first second baseman to homer 30 times in consecutive seasons.

At Wrigley Field, Sammy Sosa homers twice as the Cubs defeat the Braves 7-5.

Sammy Sosa homers in the bottom of 8th inning to tie Marlins 3-3.
In the 10th inning, Shawon Dunston's walk-off RBI single drives in Mark Grace for a 4-3 Cubs victory over the Marlins at Wrigley
Field.
