In his first 2 games with Cubs in a doubleheader, Jim Marshall hits 3 home runs. Cubs lose both ends of the doubleheader to Phillies

August 24, 1966
Ron Santo & Randy Hundley drive in 9th inning runs to win a come from behind victory over Mets at Wrigley Field 6-5. Hundley's infield single is the walk-off hit. 

August 24, 1969
At Wrigley Field, the Cubs comes back from a 8-2 deficit to defeat the Astros 10-9.  A 4-run 8th inning, highlighted by Ernie Banks 2nd home run of the day gives the Cubs the lead.

Bill Buckner ties the game 8-8 in 9th inning with an RBI single.  Mike Tyson wins it in the 11th inning on a walk-off RBI double.

Chuck Rainey ends up one out short of a no-hitter when Eddie Milner singles with 2 outs in the 9th inning of a 3-0 Cubs victory.   Rainey does end up with a complete game 1-hitter.

At Wrigley Field, Rick Sutcliffe wins his 10th straight decision with a 5-hit complete game shutout as the Cubs defeat the Braves 3-0.

Vance Law's walk-off RBI single in 9th inning gives Cubs a 3-2 over the Astros.

August 24, 1996
Kerry Wood, as a minor leaguer with the Cubs pitches his 2nd no-hitter for Daytona. Daytona defeats Vero Beach 3-0.  

August 24, 1997
At Wrigley Field, Ryne Sandberg homers twice as the Cubs defeat the Expos 12-3. 

August 24, 2002
At Bank One Ballpark in Arizona, Matt Clement pitches a 3-hit complete game shutout as the Cubs defeat the Diamondbacks 4-0. 

August 24, 2004
At Wrigley Field, Derrek Lee hits a grand slam, Moises Alou homers twice and drives in 6 runs as the Cubs defeat the Brewers 13-4.
