Cubs Birthdays:

Hack Wilson (Cubs, 1926-1931)
The Cubs Hall of Famer had one of the greatest offensive seasons in MLB history in 1930.  His 56 home runs was a NL record until 1997.  His 191 RBI remains an MLB record to this day. 

Kosuke Fukudome (Cubs, 2008-2011)

April 26, 1905
Cubs Outfielder, Jack McCarthy throws out three runners at home plate, each time completing a double play.  The team needed all 3 of them as they defeat the Pirates 2-1 at Exposition Park.

April 26, 1939
Gene Lillard's first MLB start is a 3-1 complete game victory over the Pirates. 

April 26, 1961

Don Zimmer hits a walk-off home run in the 10th inning off Jim Maloney as Cubs defeat Reds 3-2.  Glen Hobbie pitches 9 innings and Don Elston gets the win for the Cubs pitching a scoreless top of the tenth inning.

April 26, 1968 
At Wrigley Field, Lou Johnson hits a walk-off RBI single scoring Billy Williams as the Cubs defeat the Astros 3-2. 

April 26, 1970
Fergie Jenkins pitches a complete game,  Jim Hickman, Billy Williams and Ron Santo all hit home runs (Santo's was a Grand Slam) as the first place Cubs defeat the Astros 6-3 for their 10th consecutive game. 

April 26, 1978
Bobby Murcer's grand slam off the Phillies, Steve Carlton helps the Cubs defeat the Phillies 4-2 at Veteran's Stadium.
April 26, 1990
In San Diego, the Cubs and Padres are scoreless going into the 8th inning when the Cubs score 2 runs.  In the bottom of the 8th, Mike Harkey loses his no-hitter on Phil Stephenson's home run.  Mitch Williams comes in to complete a 2-inning save and a 2-hitter for Cubs pitchers.  Cubs defeat Padres 3-1 after Shawon Dunston homers in the 9th.

April 26, 1992
Mark Grace's 2-run double in the 8th inning ties the Cubs and Pirates & Joe Girardi wins it for the Cubs with a walk-off RBI single in the 1oth inning. 

April 26, 1993
Cubs play Coloroda Rockies for first time and defeat the Rockies 6-3 at Mile High Stadium in Denver.

April 26, 1997
Ryne Sandberg's 2nd inning home run cuts the Pirates lead over the Cubs to 3-1.   The home run breaks the major league record for most home runs by a second baseman.  His 267th career home run as a 2B breaks the record previously held by Joe Morgan.  The Cubs comes from behind to defeat the Pirates 7-6.

April 26, 2000
Cubs score 10 runs in the final 3 innings to defeat the Astros 13-8 in Houston.  Sammy Sosa & Shane Andrews homer for the Cubs and Rickey Gutierrez drives in 5 runs for the Cubs.

April 26, 2008 
Carlos Zambrano, Michael Wuertz & Jon Lieber combine on a 5-hit shutout to defeat the Nationals 7-0 at Nationals Park.  Derrek Lee reaches base 4 times and drives in 3 runs for the Cubs. 

April 26, 2009
A big day for Kosuke Fukudome as he goes 3 for 4 with a walk, 2 runs scored and drives in 5 runs, including a 3-run home run on his birthday .  Cubs defeat Cardinals 10-3 in St. Louis.

Cubs defeat the Nationals 4-3 in 10 innings on a bases loaded walk to Aramis Ramirez

At Wrigley Field, the Cubs and Kyle Hendricks shut out the Brewers and Chase Anderson 1-0.  Kyle Schwarber drives in the lone run of the game with a home run.  Cubs pitchers (Hendricks, Carl Edwards Jr & Brandon Morrow) do not walk a batter in the game.
