This may be one of the best examples of a hard luck loser as Claude Passeau takes a no-hitter into the eight inning. In the ninth inning, the Reds score an unearned run to tie the game 1-1 and send the game into extra innings.
The game goes 14 innings and Passeau finishes all 14 innings, but gives up a 2nd Reds run in the top of the 14th inning and the Cubs lose 2-1.
The most amazing stat to me in this game is that the Reds committed 8 errors in this game, but not one of them helped result in a run scored for the Cubs.
