Wrigley Field opens the season with a night game for the first time in team history. The team also unveils their new video boards. The renovations also had many fans waiting in lines to the restrooms. I know-I was one of them. It was also the first opening day at Wrigley after the death of Cubs great Ernie Banks and the team had pictures of Banks all over the bleachers that were being renovated as well.

It is also the Cubs debut of free agent pitcher, Jon Lester. Lester pitched alright, but Cardinals pitcher, Adam Wainwright was better as he shut out the Cubs for a 3-0 Cardinals victory. Jason Heyward has 3 hits in his Cardinals debut and Matt Holliday drives in 2 runs for the Cardinals.

Cubs lose a tough home opener as Ryan Dempster pitches a strong 7 innings, leaving the game with a 1-0 lead. Kerry Wood walks 3 runners including forcing in the tying run in the 8th inning and Carlos Marmol gives up the game-winning single to Ian Desmond as the Nationals defeat the Cubs 2-1. Since the Cubs lost the game, I'll just give you bill Murray singing "Take Me OUt to the BAllgame"

He's a Cub now, but when Jason Heyward came to the big leagues, his first at bat was against Carlos Zambrano and the Cubs. What a start, a 3-run home run in his first at bat as the Braves demolish the Cubs 16-5.

On his first Opening Day after leaving the Cubs as a free agent, Greg Maddux, allows no runs and just five hits to his former team over 8 1/3 innings as the Braves edge the Cubs, 1 - 0.

In a wild season opener in Atlanta, the Cubs defeat the Braves 10-9, the teams combined for 7 home runs in the game, Jody Davis, Leon Durham and Shawon Dunston homered for the Cubs. The Cubs came from behind to score 2 runs in the ninth inning and won the game in the 13th inning on a sacrifice fly by Manny Trillo

Bump Wills leads off the game for the Cubs with a home run in his first at bat with the Cubs and Keith Moreland homers as well to help the Cubs defeat the Cincinnatti Reds (in Cinncinatti) 3-2 in a game shortened to eight innings due to rain. This was also Ryne Sandberg's debut with the Cubs as he went 0 for 3 in the game and played 3B for the Cubs.

Here are a few pics from Opening Day 2015 at Wrigley Field.
